SZALMUN

2020
JUNE 15-16-17-18
Letter From Secretary-General
Most Esteemed Participants and Distinguished Guests;
It is my salient honor and pleasure to welcome you all to the first annual session of Sabahattin Zaim Anatolian High School Model United Nations Conference, which will be held from the 15th of June to 18th of June 2020 at Istanbul Zaim University Halkalı campus.
This year, we will be hosting our participants in 7 different committees focusing on topics varying from nuclear proliferation, climate change, coronavirus outbreak, historical invasions to drug trafficking. We have made the conclusion on the committees by thinking as real United Nations members and deciding on the corruptive matters that should be solved. As the secretariat, we are all pleased with the results we have.
We have four committees following the Harvard procedure, suitable for both experienced and inexperienced delegates which are; GA-1: Disarmament and International Security Committee, World Health Organization, United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change and our first and our first and only Turkish Committee; United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime. We have three committees suitable for experienced delegates, Historical Security Council, Futuristic North Atlantic Treaty Organization Military Committee and last but not least, Joint Crisis Committee whose agenda is the Russo-Japanese War.
To conclude my letter, the Secretariat and I truly cannot wait to welcome you to SZALMUN 2020. It is my hope for all those who participate to have a unique and unforgettable experience. We are looking forward to meet you in June!
